Donnelly (Jimmy) Garage is dedicated.

January 31, 2020

Formerly the City Hall Garage (with 80 highly-coveted parking spaces), it is named for South Boston resident Jimmy Donnelly, 42, who dies of kidney and liver disease at Massachusetts General Hospital on February 3, 2020. It is thought to be the first garage named after a parking attendant in the U.S. In making the announcement, Mayor Marty Walsh said of Donnelly, “He wasn’t elected by anybody. But he was loved by everybody.”
